League to help honor Dr. King on Jan. 15
Join the League of Women Voters in the 2018 MLK March!
This year the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission will “continue its commemoration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1st March for Justice organized by the late Rev. Dr. Raymond ‘R.A.’ Callies, Sr. A San Antonio teacher and pastor, Rev. Callies began the March in 1968 to call attention to the need for basic infrastructure on the East Side. His efforts have resulted in what has become one of the largest commemorative marches for Dr. King in the United States and possibly the world,” according to the City of San Antonio website.
We want to make an impact with a strong showing at the march. So grab your walking shoes and get your friends to come along. We welcome all genders and gender identities.
Free League of Women Voters sashes will be given to the first 25 people who sign up, one per person. Also, signing
