Start getting ready for the May 3 election
The May 3 municipal election is almost here, so be sure to use VOTE411 or the Voters Guide to get unbiased information about candidates for San Antonio Mayor and City Council. There is also an explanation of the Alamo Colleges District bond election, which all Bexar County voters are eligible to vote on. Then vote! Early voting starts April 22.
VOTE411, our online guide, in English and Spanish, is at vote411.org. Enter your address and you will see only the races and candidates that will be on your ballot, based on your location. Or pick up a copy of our print Voters Guide, in English, Spanish or Arabic, at any public library.
The runoff election is June 7, and Vote411 will reflect only the candidates in that election. Or hold on to your printed Voters Guide – we don’t print another one for the runoffs, but you can note which candidates will be on the ballot and make your choices.
Local elections are at least as important as state and federal ones, but voter turnout tends to be low. Some people think it won’t affect their daily life, or the candidates may be unfamiliar. The fact is that local elected officials have a large impact the lives of residents, and VOTE411 and the Voters Guide inform users through unedited responses to questions about local issues.
