Award winning documentary “The Librarians” coming to San Antonio on May 2
Jan Olsen, Community Outreach member | Published on 3/28/2026
The film reveals the connection between local school board battles and the broader political agenda supported by Christian Nationals and groups like Moms for Liberty. Despite facing screaming groups of parents, well-funded and organized religious groups and targeted hate campaigns, the nine librarians stood their ground with courage and confidence to uphold their rights and the rights of their students. The film focuses on the librarians who are not political activists or culture warriors. They are a diverse group of dedicated professionals who believe in the freedom of speech and the right of all people to read what they choose.
