For 85 years, the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area (LWVSA) has dedicated itself to empowering voters and defending democracy. Today, the mission continues and we are inviting you to join in 85 Days of Action.

How You Can Participate in 85 Days of Action

  • Sept. 1: Pledge to participate in LWVSA’s 85 Days of Action
  • Sept. 2: Register for Community Outreach Volunteer Training taking place Sept. 4. Learn how to effectively engage with voters at LWVSA’s community outreach training.
  • Sept. 3: Invite a friend to join the League.
  • Sept. 4: Attend Community Outreach Volunteer Training. Learn how to effectively engage with voters at LWVSA’s community outreach training.
  • Sept. 5: Register for LWVSA Speaker Series--Dr. Bryan Gervais, Director UTSA Center for Public Opinion. Words Matter! Join us on Sept. 10 to learn what the UTSA Center for Public Opinion Research has discovered about the impact of ballot language.
  • Sept. 6: Check the LWVSA calendar to learn about our many voter outreach volunteer opportunities.
  • Sept. 7: Sign up for Voter Deputy Registrar training. After you complete the training and pass the test, you can help others register to vote.
  • Sept. 8: Sign up for the LWVSA newsletter. Sign up to get the latest news from LWVSA and learn how you can get involved.

  • Sept. 10: Attend the LWVSA Speaker Series--Dr. Bryan Gervais, Director UTSA Center for Public Opinion.
  • Sept. 11: Apply to be a Bexar County Poll Worker. Apply to be an election official and get paid to be a part of the process.
  • Sept. 12: Engage with students at local colleges and universities. Check out opportunities to work with LWVSA’s Youth Voter Outreach Team.
  • Sept. 13: Learn about the SAVE Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2025.
  • Sept. 1: Tell your Senator you oppose the SAVE Act and they should too.
  • Sept. 15: Watch Get to Know the League to find out more about the League’s very active committees. Then email organization@lwvsa.org and let us know your interest.
  • Sept. 16: NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY - Register to vote, remind a friend to register, and join LWVSA at a voter registration event.
  • Sept. 17: Follow LWVSA on Instagram, like us, post a positive comment and share.
  • Sept. 18: Host a postcard gathering. Invite your friends to write to their elected officials about legislation regarding voting rights. If you need help organizing the event, reach out to league@lwvsa.org.
  • Sept. 19: Make a plan to vote in the November election. Learn what is on your November ballot at LWVSA.org.
  • Sept. 20: Write a letter to the editor voicing your concerns about legislation that threatens voting rights.
  • Sept. 21: Did you miss the in-person Community Outreach training? Watch the Community Outreach Training video. Learn how to effectively engage with voters at LWVSA’s community outreach training then sign up to volunteer.
  • Sept. 23: Write an article for the League’s The Voter which is published the first of even numbered months.
  • Sept. 24: Invite the League to come to an event to table or to speak about the importance of participating in elections.
  • Sept. 25: Help the League form an Observation Corps, a group that tracks what our local elected officials are considering and deciding.
  • Sept. 26: Attend a committee meeting to see if you would like to get involved in the League on a deeper level.
  • Sept. 27: Send another email to your elected officials stating your concerns. Find out who represents you at elections.bexar.org.
  • Sept. 28: Check out lwvsa.org to find out what the League is doing to empower voters and defend democracy.
  • Sept. 29: Follow LWVSA on Instagram, like us, post a positive comment and share.
