Voters Guide Reaches More People Than Ever

With heightened interest by the public in the candidates on the November General Election ballot and where they stood on issues, we decided to print more copies of the Voters Guide than ever. Since 2018  we have printed 20,000 copies, up from 10,000 in previous years. This time we printed 23,000, and every one of them was distributed.

We were able to increase the number of locations and organizations that received Voters Guides, and several more groups have asked for them in the future.

Besides interest in the election itself, our efforts to introduce more people to us and what we do reaped a benefit in increased requests for Voters Guides. Our Community Outreach team told many people about them and distributed them at the many events they held, and we spoke at events held by other organizations  about them and the online guide, VOTE411.  We reached out to the political parties,  asking them to explain how important it is for all candidates to respond to our questions. It resulted in more voters being  informed in a nonpartisan, unbiased way about what the candidates stand on important issues.

We sharpened our focus on underserved populations and areas so people without online access or who don’t use computers could be fully informed. Many people don’t vote because they don’t know what the candidates stand for. Our information gave them the tools and confidence to cast their ballots.

Spectrum News aired a video of our own Valerie Reiffert, who was distributing Voters Guides to of people who went to Antioch Baptist Church, which was having a food drive. Valerie always gets hundreds of Voters Guides and uses them to inspire people to learn about the candidates and vote.

Looking forward, we plan to continue expanding our reach in fulfilling our core mission of helping create active, informed citizens who vote in every election.
