May 3 Municipal Election

This election will include races for San Antonio Mayor and all 10 City Council seats as well as races in several other municipalities and school districts. Candidates can file to run between January 15 and February 14.

Election Day | Saturday, May 3

Early Voting | April 21 -April 29

Important Deadlines:

First day to apply for a ballot by mail: Wednesday, January 1
- Applications are not automatically sent – you must request one from the Bexar
  Elections Office at 210-335-8683 or download one from the Elections Office
  website, bexar.org/elections.
Last day to register to vote: Thursday, April 3
Last day for Elections Department to receive mail ballot application: Tuesday, April 22
Last day for Elections Department to receive mail ballot:
- Saturday, May 3, 7 pm if not postmarked
- Monday, May 5, 5 pm if postmarked locally by Saturday, May 3, 7 pm

Runoff election date and deadlines will be available later.

Get ready to vote

Confirm your current Bexar County registration information is correct or learn how to register to vote.
Submit an application to vote by mail if you are eligible.
- Texas recently passed two laws designed to improve the mail-in balloting process.
Learn what to expect when you vote in person.
Obtain acceptable ID for voting. If you don't have the listed photo ID, and could not reasonably get one, you can still vote by signing a form and bringing an acceptable alternate ID. It's a good idea, but not required, to bring your voter registration card as well when you go to vote.
Visit VOTE411.org or pick up a Voters Guide at a public library to see who and what is on your ballot so that you can vote informed.
Find a Bexar County vote center where you’d like to vote at the Bexar County Elections website. Early voting sites are posted two weeks before early voting starts, and Election Day sites are posted shortly before that day.
