Transportation Needs of San Antonio: Preparing for the Future

How well is metropolitan San Antonio prepared to meet transportation needs as the area continues to grow, with 1.1 million new residents expected by 2040? To explore the issue more fully, The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area presented a forum, “Transportation Needs of San Antonio: How are we preparing for the future?” on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the San Antonio Central Library, 600 Soledad St.
“Traffic jams, lack of light rail or other mass transit options, ongoing housing development, street repairs, etc., are all issues that were discussed in the recent city election,” says Madhu Sridhar, president of the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area. “The political gridlock this issue has been trapped in for years has consequences for our economy, health, environment and quality of life.”
