The owner of Curator Coffee met the LWVSA recently at her naturalization ceremony. She immediately became a VDR and is hosting a LWVSA outreach table at her business. She will provide a table inside of her shop and another table outside in a covered area. It is located in a strip center with many other businesses, including an HEB, so expect a lot of people walking by. She will provide decorated cookies as a giveaway.

candidates. Not only will you learn useful information that you can use for your election research, but you can provide this helpful material to friends and family that say they don’t know enough to vote. Registering: Registration is restricted to Oasis members, but membership is open to anyone 50
years of age and older and it is free. Registration opens August 21 at oasisnet.org

The LWVSA presence at naturalization ceremonies is a wonderful opportunity to welcome new citizens. The citizenship oath will be administered by a federal judge at two ceremonies to approximately 200 applicants at each. Volunteers will distribute the New Citizen brochure from LWVSA and direct new citizens to turn in their voter registrations to Bexar County Elections staff on site. Sign up for one or two ceremonies.

Start Seeing Diversity 20th Annual Conference for educators of young children.
LWVSA volunteers will interact with teachers as they arrive for the conference, during breaks between sessions and as they leave. Reverend Ann Helmke, the faith liason for the city of San Antonio, is the keynote speaker. Cary Clack will speak during lunch about "How to determine the legitimacy of news and claims in media". Volunteers can listen to the keynote and lunch presentations.
