The LWVSA Youth Initiative program has recently created a subcommittee to focus on youth voter outreach. Madhu Sridhar has asked Margaret Kanyusik and Nicole Lehmann to co-chair this committee. Their work has two main areas of concentration: arranging group tours of the Bexar County Elections Department and coordinating voter registration and education tabling events at local university and high school campuses. Their goal at the college and university level is ultimately to turn over the task of voter outreach to interested student groups to register, educate and encourage their peers to vote while providing them with the necessary LWVSA resources to do so.
