LWVSA COMMUNITY OUTREACH 2024
2024 is a LEAP Year! Consider donating your additional 24 hours to the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area. Spend 2 hours (or more) a month in 2024 to volunteer with the LWVSA to support democracy.
2024 is an important election year beginning with the primary elections on March 5 and culminating in the Presidential election in November 2024.
To accomplish the mission of the LWVSA during these important elections, we are asking our volunteers to commit to participating for 24 hours throughout the year at tabling events, naturalization events and GOTV events.
Make your New Year's Resolution to give ONE day to support our Democracy.
Events leading up to the Primary Elections
You can help during the Primary Election Cycle by:
--Assisting in the distribution of election materials to other organizations/groups around the city the week of January 8.
--Attending a volunteer training to learn more about community outreach prior to the March Primaries on January 9 or January 13.
--Joining LWVSA volunteers at the Food Bank Distribution at Gustafson Stadium to encourage voter registration and voting in the Primary Election on January 12
--Joining other LWVSA volunteers at the MLK March on January 15.
--Picking a day of your choice during Early Voting, February 20-March 1 to wear your LWVSA t-shirt to highlight early voting with those that you interact with during the day. Take along LWVSA election materials to share as you engage others in your community in conversations about voting. Join other Community Outreach Volunteers at lunch on February 20th to pick up materials and talk about these efforts.
--Getting Out the Vote in the community on February 17 and February 24. We will spread out across parks and other areas where voters might be to encourage voting in the primaries.
In the planning stages:
--Joining other LWVSA volunteers at a local college or university to register college students to vote in the Primary Election.
